Adding Clients

Learn how to add and manage clients in Daybook.

Adding a New Client

  1. Click Clients in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Client
  3. Enter client details:
    • Name: Contact person or company name
    • Email: For invoice delivery
    • Phone: Optional contact number
    • Address: For invoices
  4. Click Save

Required Information

Only the client name is required. However, for invoicing you'll need at least:

  • Email: To send invoices
  • Address: Shows on invoices (optional but professional)

Optional Fields

  • Company Name: If different from contact name
  • Phone: For contact purposes
  • Tags: Organize clients (e.g., "VIP", "Residential")
  • Notes: Private notes about the client

Quick Add While Invoicing

You can add clients directly while creating an invoice:

  1. Start a new invoice
  2. Click the client dropdown
  3. Click Add New Client
  4. Enter name and email
  5. Continue with invoice

Importing Clients

Have clients in another system? Import them:

Or upload a CSV file with your client list.

Editing Clients

  1. Open the client's profile
  2. Click Edit
  3. Update information
  4. Click Save

Archiving Clients

To hide inactive clients without deleting:

  1. Open the client's profile
  2. Click Archive
  3. Client moves to archived list

Archived clients are hidden from dropdowns but their history remains intact.
