Importing from Wave
Migrate your clients from Wave to Daybook in a few simple steps.
Exporting from Wave
- Log in to your Wave account
- Go to Sales → Customers
- Click Export to CSV (or similar export option)
- Save the file to your computer
Importing to Daybook
- In Daybook, go to Settings → Import
- Click Upload CSV
- Select your Wave export file
- Map columns (Daybook auto-detects most fields)
- Preview the import
- Click Import
Column Mapping
Daybook automatically maps common Wave fields:

For unmapped fields, choose the correct Daybook field from the dropdown.
After Import
- Review imported clients in Clients
- Fix any missing information
- Archived Wave customers import as archived
Tips
- Import customers before invoices for proper linking
- Test with a few clients first
- Keep your Wave export as a backup
Troubleshooting
Import shows errors
Check that:
- File is CSV format (not Excel)
- Required fields (Name) are present
- Email addresses are valid format
Duplicate clients
If you have existing clients with matching emails, you'll be prompted to:
- Skip duplicates
- Update existing records
- Create duplicates anyway
