Importing from FreshBooks

Migrate your clients from FreshBooks to Daybook.

Exporting from FreshBooks

  1. Log in to your FreshBooks account
  2. Go to Clients
  3. Click the gear icon (⚙️)
  4. Select Export to CSV
  5. Save the file to your computer

Importing to Daybook

  1. In Daybook, go to SettingsImport
  2. Click Upload CSV
  3. Select FreshBooks as the source (auto-maps columns)
  4. Upload your exported file
  5. Review the mapping
  6. Click Import

Column Mapping

When you select FreshBooks as source, columns auto-map:

What Imports

  • Client contact information
  • Company names
  • Addresses and phone numbers
  • Notes (if exported)

What Doesn't Import

  • Invoice history (import invoices separately)
  • Payment records
  • Custom fields specific to FreshBooks

Tips

  • Export active clients only for cleaner import
  • Import clients before invoices
  • Review imported data for accuracy

Troubleshooting

Missing company names

FreshBooks separates client name and organization. Both are imported - check the Company Name field.

Phone numbers formatted differently

Daybook standardizes phone number format during import. Numbers are preserved, formatting may change.
