Stripe Setup

Connect Stripe to accept online card payments from your customers. Setup takes about 5 minutes.

What You Need

  • A Daybook account
  • Your business information (name, address)
  • Your bank account details (for payouts)
  • Valid ID (Stripe may require identity verification)

Connecting Stripe

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click Connect Stripe
  3. You'll be redirected to Stripe's secure site
  4. Enter your business details
  5. Add your bank account for payouts
  6. Complete identity verification if requested
  7. Click Submit to finish

Once connected, you can accept payments immediately.

Stripe Account Types

New to Stripe

If you don't have a Stripe account, Daybook creates one for you during setup. You'll receive login credentials from Stripe.

Existing Stripe Account

If you already use Stripe, you can connect your existing account. Your existing settings and history remain intact.

Payout Schedule

After payments are processed:

Stripe deposits funds directly to your connected bank account.

Fees

Stripe charges approximately:

  • 2.9% + $0.30 per transaction (Canadian cards)
  • 3.5% + $0.30 for international cards
  • Additional 1% for currency conversion

These fees are charged by Stripe, not Daybook.

Disconnecting Stripe

To disconnect your Stripe account:

  1. Go to SettingsBilling
  2. Click Disconnect Stripe
  3. Confirm

Pending Payments

Disconnect only after all pending payments are processed. Outstanding invoices will no longer accept online payments.

Troubleshooting

Connection failed

If the connection fails:

  1. Clear your browser cache
  2. Try again in a different browser
  3. Ensure pop-ups are allowed for stripe.com

Verification pending

Stripe may require additional verification. Check your email for instructions from Stripe.

Payouts not arriving

Log in to your Stripe dashboard at dashboard.stripe.com to check:

  • Bank account details are correct
  • No verification issues
  • No holds on your account
