When Do I Get Paid?
Understanding the timeline from customer payment to money in your bank account.
Payment Timeline
When a customer pays your invoice online:
| Step | Timing |
|---|---|
| Customer pays | Instant |
| Payment confirmation | Instant |
| Invoice marked as Paid | Instant |
| Funds reach Stripe | Instant |
| Payout initiated | Next business day |
| Money in your bank | 2-3 business days |
Total time: 2-3 business days from payment to bank deposit.
Factors Affecting Timing
Business Days
Payouts only process on business days. Payments on weekends are processed the next Monday.
New Accounts
If your Stripe account is new, your first few payouts may be delayed 7-14 days while Stripe verifies your business.
International Payments
Payments from international cards may take 1-2 extra days due to additional verification.
Bank Processing
Some banks take longer to process incoming deposits, especially credit unions or smaller banks.

- You receive: $95.80 (free) or $96.80 (paid)
Common Questions
Why is my payout delayed?
Check your Stripe dashboard for:
- Verification requirements
- Risk holds (unusual activity)
- Bank account issues
Can I get paid faster?
Stripe Instant Payouts (where available) can deposit funds within minutes for an additional fee. Enable this in your Stripe dashboard.
What if a customer disputes the charge?
The funds are held while the dispute is resolved. If you win, the funds are released. If you lose, the customer is refunded.
